Brisbane Airport (BNE), Queensland’s busiest airport by some way, welcomed a record-breaking 23.1 million passengers in 2017, placing it third overall in terms of passenger numbers carried by Australian airports. Its extremely extensive domestic network (over 50 routes) is a major factor in this, with 4.7 million passengers flying to and from Sydney alone in 2017. Its global coverage is symbolized by its top three international routes, one to Australasia (Auckland), one to Asia (Singapore) and one to North America (Los Angeles). The fourth most popular destination is Dubai, from where connecting flights to virtually all European countries are an option.
